Photographic artist Sanni Seppo’s photography exhibition presents Finnish natural forests from Pohjoistuulen metsä. Also on display are pictures of old-growth forests threatened with felling in the Värriö joint forest. The exhibition is also accompanied by texts about natural forests and forest-related news.

Sanni Seppo has photographed Finland’s old-growth forests for decades. The core of the photographic artist’s works lies in sociability and documentarity. Seppo also combines text with his images, highlighting the relationship between humans and nature. Sanni Seppo and her partner Ritva Kovalainen have published the books Pohjoistuulin metsä (2023), Forest management measures (2009) and Puu kansa (1997).

Women's choir Sallattaret performs: "Songs for love"

The concert by the “Sallattaret” Women’s Choir will feature a beautiful collection of songs that talk about love, its many forms and longing for love. The concert features songs from the 30s to the present day. The Sallattaret women’s choir is conducted by Taina Hiltunen-Ojala.

Coffee will be served after the concert.

The concert is free of charge, optional program fee 5 €.

UKRAINIAN SINGING CHRISTMAS
The female singing group Nota Neo was founded in 2000 in the city of Lutsk in Volyn, Ukraine, an area known for its particularly rich tradition of folk music and singing.
Nota Neo has four talented professional singers. Its genre is pop-folk, and it combines old songs and melodies with modern musical styles, giving a new emotional charge to the piece of music itself and creating an energetic flow during the concert. The band’s repertoire is also impressive: old Ukrainian folk songs in authentic, pop, classical and even jazz arrangements.
Nota Neo tours a lot not only in Ukraine, but also far beyond its borders. The original tone woven into the modern harmony of ancient Ukrainian Christmas carols is a great surprise and a real Christmas present for the Finnish audience. Nota Neo guarantees a good, festive Christmas atmosphere and a great energy charge!
The artistic director of the group is Älina Stepanjuk.

Warmth of Christmas -concert by Eereka Trio

The Warmth of Christmas concert tours the northern region and invites you to tune in towards the Christmas season.

The soloist of the concert is Eereka (Eerika Hänninen), who performs together with her ensemble. The trio line-up features strong vocals, bright guitar and deep piano tones. The piano is played by pianist Aleksi Keränen and guitarist-producer Samu Väisänen is responsible for the guitar. The concert programme consists of both traditional Christmas classics and newer compositions that rock together towards the warmth of Christmas evening.

Duration 1h, free entry.
